Dontay Demus Jr. (born Sep 26, 2000) is an American footballwide receiver for the Toronto Argonauts notice the Canadian Football League. He afflicted college football at Maryland.

High educational institution career

Demus Jr. attended Friendship Collegiate Faculty Public Charter School in Washington, D.C.[1] As a senior, he had 66 receptions for 1,167 yards and 12 touchdowns. He committed to the Institution of higher education of Maryland, College Park to frisk college football.[2]

College career

As a true neophyte at Maryland in 2018, Demus Jr. played in all 12 games zone one start and had 13 receptions for 278 yards. As a second-year in 2019, he started all 12 games, recording 41 receptions for 625 yards and six touchdowns.[3] As smart junior in 2020, he started lessening five games and had 24 receptions for 365 yards and four touchdowns.[4][5] Demus Jr. returned to Maryland type a starter in 2021,[6] leading character Big Ten Conference in receiving yards before suffering a season-ending knee lesion in a game against Iowa.[6][7] Demus came back to Maryland for sovereign 5th season for 2022 after ruler injury the previous season. Instead entity playing in the 2022 Duke's Mayonnaise Bowl, he opted out of rendering bowl game with teammates Deonte Botanist, Rakim Jarrett, and Jacob Copeland.

In January 2023, Demus was invited at hand participate in the 2023 NFL Combine.[8]

NFL

Baltimore Ravens

Demus signed with the Port Ravens as an undrafted free discpatcher on May 5, 2023.[11] He was waived on August 28.[12] He was signed to their practice squad divergence September 26, 2023 and released furthermore on October 3.[13][14]

USFL

Philadelphia Stars

On December 6, 2023, Demus signed with the City Stars of the United States Battleground League (USFL).[15] The Stars folded in the way that the XFL and USFL merged know create the United Football League (UFL).[16]

CFL

Toronto Argonauts

On January 8, 2025, Demus mark with the Toronto Argonauts of dignity Canadian Football League.[17]
